FAQ's
> Can I install a fire in any room of my home?
An electric fire can be installed in most rooms. However, it’s important to consider factors like ventilation, safety standards, and space availability.
> Do I need a chimney?
No. Many modern gas and electric fireplaces do not require a chimney. However, some gas fireplaces may require a vent or flue system.
> Can I install a fireplace in a flat?
While it’s possible, there are restrictions. Electric fires are usually the easiest to install in flats due to the lack of venting requirements.
> How long does the installation take?
Installation times can vary. While ‘plug and play’ electric fireplaces can be set up in a few minutes, installations for gas fires or media wall fireplaces, especially those requiring structural changes, can take several days.
> Is there a recommended height for mounting a TV above a fireplace?
Ideally, the TV should be at eye level when seated. However, if placing it above a fireplace, ensure it’s high enough to avoid excessive heat but not so high that it strains the neck when watching. Using a tilting wall mount can also help adjust the TV’s angle for comfortable viewing.
> Do I need a surround when installing a fireplace?
No. Many fires, such as free-standing or wall-hanging fires, don’t require a surround. If you like the traditional look, an inset fire will usually be paired with a surround.
