Hello, does this have a tapered back to fit in an existing fireplace?

Hi Rowen, thanks very much for getting in touch. I am not entirely sure what you mean by tapering it back, but if any alterations were to be made to the product It would depend on the dimensions and depth of your existing fireplace, without knowing that it is hard to give a definitive answer I'm sorry!
