Do your fires come complete with surround ?

Hi Helen, this fire does not come complete with a surround no - it is just the fire. The surrounds for fires can be found here - https://www.direct-fireplaces.com/fireplaces-and-surrounds/fire-surrounds.html. I hope this helps.

Hi - please would you tell me if the coals are "fixed" or can they be realigned to offer a more natural look. Also, can they be substituted for logs?

Hi Ellie, in the User Manual it reads:
7. COAL LAYOUT
The base and front coals should be
positioned as shown. The base locates
onto the rear shelf and sits central and
pushed back. The front coal moulding
is positioned centrally in its channel
with the cut out on the right as
shown.
Note the pilot position on the right
hand side of the burner.
It is important for clean burning that
the correct coal is fitted in the correct
place.
There must be a clear gap between the two sets of coals.
Always replace the glass after laying the coals.
Do not attempt to use the unit with broken / damaged glass or coals.
Do not use additional or non standard coals.
