Can I fit the 22” chollerton in to a fireplace with an 16” opening that is 3” deep and 22” high

Hi Rose, thanks for getting in touch. It is 22 inches wide, so if you're opening is only 16 inches wide then no it will not fit. I hope this helps?

How is the chollerton 22" inset fire how is it retained in place i.e. is screwed or just free standing and can you use the flame without heat.

Hi Sandra. It is an inset fire and therefore fitted into place by your installer. It will be fixed into a recess or hole in the wall. It functions either on 1kw, 2kw or on effect only with no heat. I hope this helps?

I am interested in the Elgin & Hall Chollerton 22" Inset Electric Fire, this will replace a balanced flue gas fire, I will keep the existing surround and Mantel, can you confirm whet the additional spacer at£34 is for, is this to mount the fire flush rather than recessed?

From the Elgin and Hall website:
"The spacer kit fits to the rear of the fire to reduce the depth by 25mm. It is ideal for use with pre-cast flues."

This means you will be able to have a freestanding fire place and means that the fire can sit flush up against a wall or back panel, if needed.
