How do you get to the controls? Does the fret open on hinges or do you have to get your fingers inside it?

The fret is removable. The controls are just behind so when you remove it the controls are easily accessible.

I have the solaris fire which after 11 years needs replacing. would this be a good alternative? And would this fire fit in the same space?

What Fireplace will the Flavel Windsor Contemporary HE gas fire fit into? Also, what type of flue is required?

Thank you for your question.
The Flavel Windsor Contemporary HE gas fire is made to fit within a standard UK/IE fireplace opening which is 16 inches wide by 22 inches tall (Most of our gas and electric fires fit into these dimensions).
It uses mains natural gas as fuel.
