Q & A

Does this have a shelf at the top, or does it lie flat against the wall?
Question by: Lena on 17 Aug 2021, 15:17
Hi there Lena, this model has a shelf on it yes and it won't fit against a flat wall no - it needs to be inset into a wall. I hope this helps?

Hi there,I'm looking at your Celtic cast iron fireplace, it's beautiful, with a gas fire insert and honed black granite hearth, however, when making my choice I'm being asked which finish i would like, black, highlighted or full polished, but I can't seem to find an explanation of what the different finishes look like, can you help please? Also, can you install fires as well as supply them? Kind regards,Nona.
Question by: Nona Davidson on 2 Jun 2021, 20:47
Hi Nona, thank you very much for getting in touch and bringing this to our attention. I have now updated the product page with more images to show each type of finish. Black is fully black, highlighted is black with silver on it, then full polished is the fully silver model. We do not install oursleves no, you would need a registered fitter for this. I hope this helps?

Hi can a high efficiency gas fire be fitted to this fireplace Gallery Collection Celtic Cast Iron Combination Fireplace. Thank you. Just I'm worried my living room will be cold when the fire isn't on as the fire opening part looks so big. Do you know if the top of the fire where the fumes would go up the chimney is partly closed? Just I'm worried it's like an open fire where alot of cold can come down the chimney. Do you know what the fire is called that you use with this fireplace? So I can maybe look at it more closely. Thank Fiona
Question by: Fiona Midgley on 8 Mar 2021, 14:53
Hi there Fiona,

So basically because of it being a gas fire, you often have to have the baffle plate in place to ensure gas can escape - it's a safety feature of these type of gas fires essentially.

Here are some models in the Cast Tec range though that are newer and designed well. If you look at the Integra gas range (page 5) and feel inspired to buy one, please contact us and we can arrange the order.

Can this be installed in a wall (for decorative purposes only) where there is no existing fireplace recess? Or can a cut out be made in the first floor chimney? We have one on the ground floor, but want one in an upstairs bedroom. Once again...for decorative purposes only. Thank you.
Question by: Eon White on 22 Feb 2021, 14:52
Hi there Eon, thanks for getting in touch. The inset depth of this product is 165mm so a fake chimney breast will be required. This can be built with a metal stud wall, a stone chamber and plaster. You can get more info, plus step by step pictures here in this blog -

I hope this helps!

Delivery Info

Free 1 Man Delivery – For Full Details Please See Delivery Information

Our "Free Delivery" is a one-man service. The goods will arrive on a lorry that is about the size of a fire engine. (Please let us know in advance if you have restricted access or other local issues that could affect delivery).

The lorry has a tail lift that allows the driver to get the item(s) off the vehicle. The order will be packed and secured onto a pallet and the driver will have a pallet truck. He'll be able to wheel this as close as possible to your property. The pallet truck can only be wheeled over a finished surface so it's not possible to wheel it over a gravelled drive, steps, steep slopes for example. The pallets are normally about 1m wide so this is the minimum width gate they can fit through. Please note that the driver is not insured to unpack or carry the item(s) into your house.

Fitting Kits and Liner Packs might arrive separately by courier delivery on the same day unless specified/requested in advance. An email confirmation will be sent if this is the case.

If the goods are showing 48hr delivery, then this is the quickest time we're able to deliver these items (We do not deliver at weekends). You'll be asked to select a delivery date when purchasing the goods. Please note that if you live offshore these dates do not apply as it will take us slightly longer to get the goods to you and we will contact you directly.

Please note that it is an all-day delivery service which is generally from 9 am – 6 pm Monday to Friday. Delivery Depots, if they have the facility, will text in advance but as the vans do multiple runs a day you might not receive a text until the afternoon if this service is available.

Due to current pallet network pressures mainly due to driver shortages we cannot guarantee delivery on your chosen day but will do our best to communicate this as soon as we are made aware by the carriers.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE STRONGLY ADVISE THAT YOU DO NOT BOOK ANY CONTRACTORS, PLUMBER’S, OR FITTERS UNTIL YOU HAVE RECEIVED YOUR GOODS AS UNEXPECTED DELAYS CAN OCCUR.
