Will the Be Modern Avantgarde Deepline Gas Fire run on LPG bottled gas?
    A:
    Thank you for your enquiry.

This gas fire is only suitable to be used on natural (mains) gas.

Do you require a gas fire that uses LPG?

    Many Thanks

Hi I want to fit this in to a class 1 chimney. My opening is 23cm deep and 40cm wide. Where does the flue liner attach to the fire box? Top?
    A:
    Hello Adrian

Many thanks for your enquiry with us.

The fire will fit into your opening, however if you wish to connect it to a flue liner, you would need to purchase a gather hood or have you installer screed a gather into our chimney using a sand cement mix.

    Kind Regards

Hi I have recently moved into a house. It's a traditional semi, probably 1940's? How do I know which type of gas fire I can have? And do you fit them? Thanks
    A:
    Hello

Many thanks for your enquiry with us.

    A mid 1940's house may have a class 1 brick chimney or a class 2 pre-fabricated chimney.

To identify which flue type you have, take a look at the roof, if you have a traditional brick chimney stack then you have a class 1.

If it is a metal terminal out of the roof then you have a class 2 pre-fabricated.

If there is a raised ridge tile then you have a pre-cast, but i don't think on a 40's property you'll have a pre-cast flue.

We do not offer installation, however depending on where you are in the Country we maybe able put you in touch with a fitter.

    Kind Reagrds

    A:
    Hi Greg,
    Thank you for your question.
We are a retail-only business and do not fit gas fires or fireplaces.

To find a reputable gas fitter please visit the GasSafe Register - https://www.gassaferegister.co.uk/find-an-engineer/#findbylocation

All gas appliances must be fitted by GasSafe accredited engineers.

    Hope this helps?

Does this fire have a top or side control?
    A:
    Hi Susan,
    Thank you for your question.
The Be Modern Avantgarde gas fire is a manual control model the controls are located behind the the ash pan cover at the bottom of the fire near the hearth.
If you need a top/side control fire please see our selection here - https://www.direct-fireplaces.com/fires/gas-fires/top-and-side-control-gas-fires.html
